Aluminium Duffel is a European leader in the manufacture and sale of aluminium rolled products for diverse industries worldwide. It features state-of-the art technology, including the widest Automotive cold rolling mill in Europe and a CALP-line (Continuous Annealing Line with Pre-Treatment).

Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities produce rolled aluminium for everything from highly designed cladding for building facades to automotive body sheet. Function

The Key Account Manager is responsible for the accomplishment of the yearly business plan with the customers he is in charge of. He develops the necessary tools and activities to reach and exceed the planned volume, margin, customer and product mix and reports accordingly.

The KAM has an entrepreneurial mindset for business development linked to the commercial strategy. He ensures a pipeline of new leads and works together with other departments like Customer Development to transform the identified leads to booked business.

The KAM identifies and leads the actions to improve Premium Service towards our customers. A pro-active mindset is vital in achieving necessary results linked to our strategic positioning as a Customer Intimate supplier.

The KAM drives the change to an optimized customer portfolio and premium service.

Accountabilities:

Business Planning & Development

  • Establish account plans for his main accounts, present them to the management and defend the strategy. Take the strategic input from the management into the account plan and update this regularly.
  • Build a multiyear vision for his order portfolio including volumes and margins
  • Develop the customers in line with the general Sales and Marketing Strategy
  • Steer and manage an interdisciplinary team to assure that customer business development meets long term strategic planning
  • Actively look out for business development opportunities
  • Actively participate to ideation events to answer to the changing needs of our customers and to grow our business

Sales Management

  • Acts as main and first entry point in the relation with customer.
  • Chairs the customer team, ensures it works actively breaking down the strategy defined in the account plan for a given account
  • Ensure as regularly as requested a volume and price forecast for his customer base.
  • Maintain close relationship with all customers through regular visits, frequent contact and high reactivity on every solicitation coming from the customer base.
  • Prepare negotiations using the mandate preparation and discussion as a main tool. Lead the negotiations with customers within the defined limits.

Various

  • Entertains close relationship with professional bodies, visits trade fairs and conferences, etc…
  • Present the Key-Account-Management of his customers at executive meetings
  • Be a valued team member through close cooperation with colleagues and working as one team towards the mutual goals of the sales team and the company.

Profile

Preferably master in Business or any other Master Degree. Lack of or lower degree can be compensated by long experience in a similar position.

2-3 years of experience in similar environment in sales, marketing or front office supply chain.

Experience and proven track record in key-account-management

Experience and proven track record in business development

Preferably knowledge of the metal markets and customers

Preferably experience in working in an international environment

Entrepreneurial mindset driving change

Agile to a dynamic environment

Language

Fluent in English and in all relevant languages related to his/her portfolio.
